New Site Layout UPDATE V2
21st June 2008 00:25UPDATE TWO: Everything nearly went according to plan, however the updating of rounds is causes a slight problem so the site will most likely be updated Monday Evening (which is better as it will be quieter then)
UPDATE: If things go according to plan this will be brought forward to Sunday Evening/Night with Registration still open for free for a week from the new site going live. ****************************
The site will be updated on Monday to the new site layout after testing has completed. Initially registration will be free until then and if testing goes well on Monday night registration will then have a cost involved. However if things don't go according to plan the older system will be rolled back out. most testing has been completed but it is impossible to cover all aspects of the site (as it has grown beyond what I originally had thought!). No data will be lost between the transition but I see a possible outage for Monday night so be warned.
Back baby
17th March 2009 22:03After a long outage we have finally tracked down backups of the site, the database and managed to get everything pretty much working again. This has cost us terribly and goes to prove that the right hosting provider is very important. CGW
Up and Running
17th October 2008 16:46Although I am expecting a few bugs and gripes it appears to all be up and running for now. Sorry for the delay, left me in a bit of a spot when the dommain was just dumped. Regards Chris G Wood
Registration Required
22nd July 2008 23:11The site now has a 6.99 price associated with registrations, all current registered users are deemed to have already paid this so don't panic.
over the coming weeks additions to the site will be added to make Online Golf Stats a much better experience for all concerned.
A golfing Events calendar has already been added giving details of coming golfing events happening around the world.
In addition to this will be golfing news which will be an aggregate of news from top sporting sites brought together in one place.
And still more to come!

The 'yips' explained
25th June 2008 10:16A fascinating article over at the Discoverychannel.ca about the problems people have with putting.
Seems it is caused by focal dystonia - a disorder characterized by involuntary, rapid muscle movements.
That's my excuse anyway.

Taking a drop
16th June 2008 21:30Well that's something I didn't know, if you take a drop in a pre-determined circle (drawn out on the course) as long as the ball is dropped and lands in the circle it can then come to rest outside the circle and is deemed ok to play. I didn't realise that :)
